We at MLK50 are committed to journalism that makes a tangible difference in people’s lives. To do that work well, we must also be committed to our own health, both mental and physical. That is why we take two annual pauses to rest and recharge.

Our team will take its second break for this year beginning Monday. Our social media channels will be silent and so will our website. We will return to calling out racial injustice and socioeconomic inequality on Sept. 7.

In the meantime, we hope you find time for self-care and take a look at these important stories from this year.
