The staff of MLK50: Justice Through Journalism is in for some much needed rest and relaxation. 

Self-care isn’t just an exercise made popular by internet influencers. It’s for survival. 

“It is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare,” said Audre Lorde, a Black poet, feminist and activist. 

And this year, short as it has been, has tested us with an insurrection, the tail-end of a holiday-fueled COVID-19 surge, and the recent winter storm.  

Our break begins March 1 and we’ll return March 8.
